Native American Tribes Nations and Confederacies: Yuma

The Suma Indians, also know at Zuma and Yuma, lived in Northern Chihuahua and the Rio Grande River valley of western Texas.

They were nomadic hunter gatherers who practiced little if any agriculture. The Suma are extinct as a distinct people, having been mostly wiped out by small pox or absorbed by the Hispanic population and the Apache Indians in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
